Great Conquerer of Death Mantra

When loved ones are unwell or leave their physical body, the most common mantra to chant for their peaceful recovery or passing is one that sings to Shiva in his form as Maha Mrityunjaya.

It’s never too late to sing it, but the ideal period is right away. The Yogic sages indicate the first two weeks is when the soul travels through the realms. If you believe in reincarnation, as I feel to be true deep in my being - this prayer honours the soul to travel as high and free as possible!

Shiva as the Great Conqueror of Death

Om tryambhakam yajaamahe

sugandhim pushti vardhanam

oorvaaruka miva bandhanaan

mrytor muksheeya maamritat

We worship the three-eyed Lord Shiva through fragrant offerings into the fire that increases prosperity. Free us from the grip of death in the same way that the cucumber is separated from the vine. Do not keep us away from the nectar of immortality.”

7 Days of Sādhanā

From New Year’s resolutions, to month-long intense Bikram Yoga challenges, to many diets - I have to admit that I’ve done them all over the years throughout the month of January. I was stuck in the mindset of restricting and pushing myself for so long (I am sorry nervous system).

But over time, I learned it’s not about being rigid and emulating an internal drill sergeant. It’s about finding practices that allow your inner radiance to shine and naturally loving them so much you kindly choose to practice them daily. It doesn’t mean you beat yourself up if you miss a day but it does mean you access your inner discipline.

Does this resonate with you!? If so, I created this series of daily Yoga sādhanā with all of my prior experiences in mind.

7 days of Sādhanā is not a rulebook for you to follow, and I’m not the ultimate authority on practice. But it is a set of beautiful, rich practices that I’ll take you through day by day in order to help set some healthy habits without any consequences if you happen to be human and miss a day or more!

We started Sunday 22nd January at 7am AEDT ~ the morning after the first new moon of 2023. A sublime time to set your intentions for the calendar year; arguably better than 1st Jan.

On my Instagram page, I’ll share a post or live video each day with your sādhanā and you can explore whenever it suits you. If anything comes up, know that I’m here on the other side of your device and I’d love to chat.

This is the first time I’m sharing an online challenge like this, and I’d love for you to share about your experience as you follow along! My intention is you’ll participate every day for one week but I’d love to hear from you even if you join once ✨

May our effort from 7 Days of Sādhanā set motion for a calm, beneficial, abundant 2023 for all beings
